Shoreline Wine Trail
You know how happy you feel being next to the Long Island Sound? Well, our grapes feel the same way. And happy grapes make a brilliant wine experience. Explore this corner of Connecticut through the Shoreline Wine Trail.
Branford
Rose Vineyard
One of the newest wineries on the Shoreline, Rose Vineyard is situated in beautiful, coastal Branford. We love their food, outdoor dining, wine tasting, and our favorite room - the wine cave! It’s perfect for private parties, special events, and dinners.
Guilford
Bishop’s Orchards
Head east and one town over from Rose Vineyard to Bishop’s Orchards and experience wines and ciders made straight from the fruits grown on Bishop's Orchards. Each specialty fruit wine is created by on-site winemaker, Keith Bishop, highlighting the annual farm-grown fruits of apples, peaches, pears, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries.
Clinton
Chamard Vineyards
Nestled in the shoreline town of Clinton, Chamard Vineyards offers delicious food and wine. Whether you’re dining at their bistro, enjoying a wine tasting, or taking in their breathtaking views with live music - Chamard Vineyards in a must stop. They also offer private events in their wine cellar, red barrel room, tank room, or my favorite - barn!
Old Lyme
Sunset Hill Vineyard
Sunset Hill Vineyard is a hidden gem on the Shoreline. Offering spectacular views, and a storied past, Sunset Hill Vineyard is one of our favorite finds in Lyme, CT. The art culture of Lyme is seen in every aspect of Sunset Hill Vineyard, through their limited edition Artist Series labels, designed by local artists. Or even their wine barn, named the “Winehouse” after singer Amy Winehous, and where you can still enjoy music today.
Stonington
Jonathan Edwards Winery
From Lyme, continue east past New London to the end of the Shoreline to experience the Jonathan Edwards Winery. Jonathan Edwards Winery was created from the simplest of concepts—make great wine and enjoy life more often. Now that’s something we can all agree on! Stop in for a tour, wine tasting, or their local artisan products to further enjoy your wine tasting experience.
Stonington
Stonington Vineyards
Stonington Vineyards, a founding member of the Connecticut Wine Trail, is best known for their barrel fermented Chardonnay and proprietory blends Seaport White and Triad Rose.
They also offer some of our favorite events on the Shoreline including Kick-Off to Summer Weekend, Friday Night Summer Music and Movie Night in the Vines.
Stonington
Saltwater Farm Vineyard
With a preservationist’s bent and keen appreciation of their vineyard’s past, the goal of Saltwater Farm Vineyard has been to sustain, in contemporary function and fashion, the two foundations of the property’s place in Stonington’s history: coastal Connecticut farmland and a WWII-era private airport (pretty cool, huh!).
Their award-winning wines are a testament to the unique character of the soil and climate here on the Connecticut shoreline.

The Connecticut shoreline may be known for its charming coastal towns, historic homes, and scenic harbors, but beneath the beauty lies a darker side—one where the past lingers, and not every soul has found peace. From haunted lighthouses to eerie inns, the shoreline is steeped in ghostly legends and paranormal activity that have been passed down through generations. As Halloween approaches, let’s dive into the most haunted locations on the Connecticut shoreline, where history and the supernatural collide.
